I'll give credit where credit is due. The Pats are doing well.
I really like that Cooks kid. I've been drafting him in fantasy leagues for the last two years. He's a speedy kid with good hands who can stretch the field and run routes. If he was a little taller he'd have superstar upside. At 5'10" he has to deke out defenders and he'll lose the close battles with 6'1" CB's but he has the speed to gain a step. He should easily put up over 1000 yards and 7-8 TD's.
The Stephon Gilmore signing was brilliant! They locked him in for 5 years, took him from a division rival, and got him for an easy $13 million per. Just brilliant.
I am somewhat puzzled why they are letting Dont'a Hightower float around out there. I would have thought resigning him would have been much higher on the agenda. Maybe he's asking for too much? He's a really good player and it's not like the Pats are deep at ILB. They need to keep that guy. Show him the money!

Hightower wants, and likely deserves superstar money. As you note, they are like the Linebacker U of pro football, so they'll groom someone new.

Hightower met with the Steelers yesterday, then got on a plane and flew back home.
Not a good sign for the Steelers.
