NFL pool

Post by callmeslick »

check your smack talk......you all just got suckered into not taking the easiest pick of the season. There was no way
the Redskins were going to be healthy enough to win last night! :P

What are you talking about? DeSean Jackson was the only banged up Redskin playing last night.
The defensive coordinator was calling piss poor schemes all night. Seriously piss poor.
On one drive the Giants were on the Redskins 7 and the defensive coordinator had his defensive backs 5 yards off the Giants receivers.
Who the fuck gives the other team's receivers a 5 yard cushion when they're on the 7 yard line!

Oh, and the 4 INT's really didn't help that much either.

you were starting 5 reserves on defense. Including your best DB. Not to mention, Cousins himself is a replacement for the QB your whole
offense is designed for. If you had watched the Eagles game, you would have noticed the 9 people dragged off the field banged up. That game was only 4 days before this one. Your team was tired, thin and hurting. ANY NFL was going to beat them last night.

I did watch the Philly game. And Cousins came in and put on a show, (just like he did last year) so you can't say that it's because the system is designed for RGIII.
And Hall isn't their best DB by a long shot. He's 33 years old and lost a step 2 years ago. Both Biggers and Porter are easily better than Hall.
The 'Skins currently have 6 defensive players on IR. Of the 5 not named DeAngelo Hall, 2 went out in the Jax game (first game of the season) and the other 3 have yet to play a down this year.
I'm not saying that injuries don't contribute, and the Giants were on a short week as well ... but did you see that fucking play calling!
Someone on the Redskins sideline thought they were in a fucking college game!

all I know is I saw the game both the Giants and Skins had the previous week, and back in my foolish youth, I would have put crazy money down with a book on the Giants this Thursday. And, I would have been right. :)

sometimes, you want to stop the clock and move quickly to the next play. Fighting for a few yards, when you need, say, 50 of them, wastes a lot of time.

sometimes a judgement call, and remember that the average career span of a running back in this league is 3 years. Avoiding injuries pays a body really well, and is good for the team if the back is speedy. Enough hits and the speed gets shot.
