Nic, can you explain how releasing sheep(and one dog) into the Louvre in any way addresses farm policy? It seems that the issue lies with the French
government, not with French Culture. That would be like Texans protesting the ACA by releasing longhorn cattle into the National Gallery in DC......
Zee French are an odd bunch....

Go to France?
Old Pudfark sez: " my apologies to France. "

wow, that's a sad commentary, Nic. I don't know whether it is simply you failing to see the historical significance of your own heritage, or stating your view of current cultural matters in France. Which are you referring to? In the case of the former, France has been the major player in the visual arts and literature for much of the past 600 years or so. Less so music, but still. As for the present, certainly Paris isn't the hub it once was, but I still get the idea that there is something going on there. At any rate, you don't address my core question. How does some stupid attack on the repository of those 600 years of French artistic creation affect farmer's issues?

I may have "some" understanding of Nic's point.callmeslick wrote:wow, that's a sad commentary, Nic. France has so drastically changed in the last several decades, it's no longer the same.
The same can be said of America in the last five years.
And for your last question?
The accumulated French artistic creations are being marketed as fertilizer to the farmers.
Bottom line, you don't have a proud heritage/history, if you change it.
"Rue" has two meanings....pick one.
If you pick both?
You'll "rue" quicker.
Re: Zee French are an odd bunch....
Oh the historical stuff yeah, sure, but since 1945 it's been zilch.
As to your question I don't know why you're asking me, I didn't release no dumb sheep.
I may have an answer though. Recently one very famous religious site (le sacré coeur) was vandalized in Paris. Nevermind that it was a catholic edifice & that they insulted catholics, all that the traitors in chief saw was that it was unacceptable because it was a touristic site and it would impact tourism to vandalise catholic monuments.
Maybe those peasants are smart enough to realise that the only thing that the bastards in chief see in our culture & heritage is the touristic potential, & that's why they did their stuff in the most touristic place of all.

I'd disagree at 'zilch' but admit you have lost your status as the epicenter of the art world.nicolas10 wrote:Oh the historical stuff yeah, sure, but since 1945 it's been zilch.
didn't figure that you did, I just hoped you'd have a more in-depth knowledge of the thinking behind it.As to your question I don't know why you're asking me, I didn't release no dumb sheep.
that sucks. I'm not Catholic, nor even religious, really, but that is a magnificent place!I may have an answer though. that is sort of the type of think I sought.....although I still don't see the connection between Art and Culture and Agricultural policy. It would seem that tourism brings money to the government and nation and that is a good thing?Maybe those peasants are smart enough to realise that the only thing that the bastards in chief see in our culture & heritage is the touristic potential, & that's why they did their stuff in the most touristic place of all.
