I don't know how many here are old enough(fess up, now!) to remember Mad Magazine, in its heyday.
They ran a mock ad copy once, and caught a ton of crap for it. It was a play on the old VW beetle ads
that touted the car's watertight build. Anyway, the MAD ad showed a VW beetle floating beside a rickety
bridge. The copy read(as I best recall): "If Ted Kennedy had been driving a Beetle, things might have turned out differently."

I always thought that a good way to fix the Democratic party was to
have Teddy Kennedy drive Hillary Clinton and Nancy Pelosi home after a night of heavy drinking.

It sucks that he died of natural causes.
