Speaking of drunk driving, I have a finnish friend who once crashed his parents car in a ditch while WRC-style driving in the countryside. He was pulled from the ditch by a peasant, and got a replacement car from the garage, which he totalled against a tree on the way back home.

I guess they're less dangerous when they're drunk?

Drunk drivers? Go to Portugal after dark... and find a SOBER driver.

Like our driver told us, "I'm an excellent drunk driver!". Sheet, his responsible way of the road was to only drink beer thru the karaoke night and refuse of the good stuff... It was an interesting drive along the hills back to the BB.

Alcohol is handy to have onboard, either you drink it, or can extend your gasoline with it. As I did '12 when crawling back from Outback - had miscalculated my fuel supply - got almost back, running completely dry just 3 miles before first settlement(fuel station). ;) Anyway, Aussieland seemed to be a great place, as if there's no one around - there's no law "enforcement" either.
All I ever wanted, was my own way
