Here they do attack christianity by promoting islamic immigration. Once there are issues with muslims wanting the institutions to give in to their way of life, the legislators there create laws to "protect" our way of life. Needless to say a few years later those same laws are used against catholics in the name of equality.
That's how you ruin a culture.
Forced immigration, then laws to promote equality, & once that's done law against a perceived threat to your way of life, which are in then turned against you, in the name of "equality".

Hauling ass backwards...so often...has really crippled...Slick up. Slick's sorta like that new "progressive hybrid car"...that has five speeds in reverse...one forward...no clutch and no brakes.Darkhorse wrote:That is just lame!callmeslick wrote:I disagree about the matter, and will leave it at that, DH

Re: Well, this could get interesting.
sorry, but where does the debate go, other than round and round at this point, DH? I feel that ABSOLUTE division of religion and state function should be observed, you disagree, and point out no justification other than 'the nation is going in the shitter'. For the life of me, I can't see how slapping up the Ten Commandments outside a public building does squat to address that.Darkhorse wrote:That is just lame!callmeslick wrote:I disagree about the matter, and will leave it at that, DH

Darkhorse agrees that state & religious power should be separated. However state should be subjugated to the moral law that derives from the religious basis of one people.
Without that, the state imposes the morals that please whatever sicko is in power. & when the state tells you, or teaches your children what to thhink, that's what I call a dictatorship. That's what is happening in France for decades.

Since Christianity was the religion of the Western Europeans that settled North America and started this country it is more than an assumption that the framework was grounded in Christian principles. Having those principles scattered throughout the nation does not create a state sponsored religion. There is a Greek Goddess on top of our Nation's capitol building and in New York harbor, I don't hear you and others crying about it! What are you afraid of Slick, a religion taking over our government? Nobody is forcing anyone to be a part of any religion and never will in this Nation. Your PC crap and equality are not the same thing! What you need to fear is our Government getting too big and reaching too far. Why does the BLM and other non LAW enforcement government agencies need armed militias when we have City, County, State and Federal police forces??

nonsense, no such thing is happening here, Pud. What I'm afraid of is a culture of intimidation of those who don't believe, or believe things outside the mainstream. The 'culture' of the US, if one looks at it, is just that. It might have roots in places within Judeo-Christian moralities, but the Founders expressly tried to both avoid any over links to the Government, and before that was established, were very open to a host of religions on these shores. Further, one cannot avoid acknowledging that the folks who lived here before Europeans(and have shaped our culture to this day) were NOT Christians, either. At any rate, throughout our nation's history, we have become STRONGER as a nation via the infusion of different cultures, traditions and even religious customs. Any time we've tried to thwart immigration and thus that infusion, it has led to stagnation.
Now, France has a different history, and has been far more culturally homogeneous for the past millenium or so, right to the end of WW II. However, they, too had a need for large-scale immigration(most Euro nations did) due to the population depletion from two World Wars. What Nic observes, along with many others throughout Europe, is the fact that it took several decades after that initial rush of immigrants for the beginnings of assimilation to occur, and it isn't an easy process. Not surprisingly, Nic sees sinister plots in this.....I don't. I just see human nature at work.
