'70s, gun ownership was dropping, and the NRA and others trumped up the idea of gun sports as a cultural icon of America. This, despite the thousands
of deaths inflicted on everyone from cops to gang bangers to little 5 year olds. Marxist idea from me? Hardly. Common sense from a lifelong sportsman.
