Same thing with th P-38 only 7 flyable in the world. Only 1 F, the other 6 are all J's and L's

I doubt there is a running or rebuildable engine for it anywhere.
But that said few or in some cases no warbird types survive if they were
not hot and sexy like P-51s and Spits.
There is a rather extensive extinct list out of WWII.

Sterlings, Halifaxes, Brewster F2As, just to name three.

Heck, there are no big pieces of a Sterling around as far as I know.

Seems that airplanes that can make a living survive in numbers.

C-47s, C-46s, C-45s etc.

Fame seems to save few from the smelter, think Lancaster, only two airworthy
and usualy only one of them.

Time has and will take it's toll, but it would be nice to have a Sterling on static display somewhere....
