If you ever decide to cash out your stocks and make a purchase on something like these, ill selflessly offer to come over and fly against you :D

and, I'd have to take one of the fields out of production to park the damned things, Fats(because, if we're to go chasing each other about in ancient warplanes, I think getting out of civilization and over farmland might be preferable to zooming over a bunch of nice houses containing lawyers and such up here). I note no price on the Spitfire, but 650K for the other one, given the specs, seems pretty fair. It would be neat to have the kind of money to acquire that sort of historical piece, but alas, not in the budget. Nor, is a Maserati Coupe I had my eye on, and the Villa in French Wine Country. One has to live within one's means. Now, if the stock market continues apace and commodity prices for grain rise again........

 it seems Slip...you missed the part on the FW190 that sez it's a static display.

The Fw-190 regulary has engine runs
and is in airworthy condition more or less.
BUT since it has never been inspected and certafied
it can only be sold as static.

Like Kermit Weeks Sabre powered sea Fury it should never
be flown as the engine was only marginally airworthy in it's day.

That's true HH.....you can only run that kind of engine on 80 octane fuel a couple of hundred hours...then replace it.

Slip would be better off in a helicopter. Why?
He was raised as a 'helicopter kid'. He runs around beating the crap out of the air and making a lot of noise.
He's 'high' maintenance with a large carbon foot print and is prone to falling through folks roofs...unannounced.
8-)

actually, I'll just go with a Dassault Falcon model of some type and go from there. Those are collectors items, all hopes for Fats aside. Like I've said before, I don't even like air travel, and wouldn't travel in a helicopter on a dare, Pud.
