once again, I enrolled for Health Insurance....

....and, like last year, it was simple. Ten to fifteen minutes on the phone, and done. Further, my plan only went up $12 per month, the smallest monthly increase I've seen in over 15 years. I got dental coverage for another $80 tossed in, and am STILL paying less than I did for COBRA coverage from my employer when I retired back in 2012. For the record, the plan my wife and I have has a $500 family deductable, $2000 cap on out of pocket, $10 visit co-ay, $10 prescriptions, $15 lab fee. In other words, a Platinum Plan. Only costs $1780 per month, I get $400 per month taken off that, because I keep my taxable income to a minimum in my retirement(I'm cheap and have pretty low expenditures, now that child and grandchildren aren't in my care). I spent a good deal of my visit, a couple weeks back, to friends in CT urging them to sign up. Many are woodcutters, self-employed and lower income. They can provide great coverage for their families via the ACA. Many had been intimidated by the BS floated by the haters and nay-sayers.
Let's hear those annual scare stories about the ACA, one more time!!

Ok....here's a ACA story for ya...
Obama just excluded his new 5 million plus mouths from the ACA...cuz, it's that good.
Oh and to equate yer ACA experiences to real life? Before Solyndra ran out of taxpayer money?
The Exec's there...all thought Obama was wonderful too.

um, they are excluded from TAX REBATES, but always had been. They aren't 'new' as they've been here all along, if you were paying attention to the Exec Order. What's the point? Oh, that's right, you never have one.
Just like on the other forum.
I note, however, that you seem to accept that the basic framework of the ACA is working and the sky isn't falling. No good horror stories? Come on, you used to be able to at least make some up!

Aw..c'mon Slick....had Obama added them 5 million mouths...it'd damn near doubled the ACA sign ups..
I get yer 'humor' about posting it in this section..and I do agree, it's frivolous rambling...on yer part.

I'm covered to the hilt. The whole nine yards.
It costs me $177.84 per month.
And that includes Chipz.
God bless Canada.

I'm positive that Chipz is worth covering.
Slick paying 10 times what you're paying?
Well it seems, it costs more to insure less.

You are incorrect.
Canada has universal health care. Technically, I don't have to spend the $177.84 per month. I'd be covered with out it.
I
chose to spend the $177.84 per month. It's a "top up" to our universal health care.
Our universal health care doesn't cover private hospital rooms, physiotherapy, prescription drugs, prescription glasses or dental. If you want that stuff, you have to top up with private health insurance.
If Canada didn't have universal health care I'd be paying a fuck of a lot more. Just like you silly buggers!

Just sayin' my remark you quoted was attributed to Slick...not y'all.
I'm wondering...while Slick is extolling the virtues of his plan and recompense?
If'n he was aware....that 29 of the 60 Democratic Senators, that all voted fer the ACA...are now out of office.. That'd be nearly half of them, so far. So, putting things in perspective, so to speak, Slick's financial experiences with the ACA are just like his dreams....unique, only to him.
Old Pudfark sez: " R_D, I believe you're getting what you say you are. However, I'm sayin', Slick needs to take the $400.00 monthly remuneration and invest it in butt lube and band-aids. "

if they had kids, that would be around $1250 per month off, Fats, and being younger, they wouldn't have the premium my wife
and I do in our late 50s.
