Whining vs. winning

in the past, and I mean WAY in the past, this place was full of people who could actually debate. Hell, I look at that batch of pictures that Dawg posted the other day, and perhaps that is what clarified it for me. There were folks in that photo collage that could argue a point with substance. I might not have agreed, or visa versa, but the exchanges were solid, if sometimes heated. People talked about the issues, and at one time we even had a subforum that was exclusively for ideas to address real national/international problems and debate those ideas. Now, I have to sit through a bunch of bullshit cut and pastes from obviously biased sources, get asked to repeat facts that were already cited, and most of the posts in here are simply, as I said earlier, whines. Not really the fault of you all completely, because that is what has happened to the loyal opposition in our government.....they whine, and offer nothing by way of counter solutions. Why should I expect more of you? Once upon a time, it was considered bad form on here to start a thread with a link and little else(unless a funny photo or article), now that is routine. Now, a post where there is a detailed explaination of a progressive point of view gets nothing but stupid commentary about Goebells or George Soros and nothing to counter it. Frankly, and I've been saying this for a while, CWOS is just a boring place to debate politics. Luckily for me, CUDA directed me to a place where the conservatives can actually form English sentences and put forward ideas, so I get to see the contrast daily. And, trust me, and I'll put this directly to Happy and Pud, you don't come off well by comparison.

Look, Pud, I've spent a decade or a bit more here, and respect the hell out of the founders for their overall laissez faire attitude. I have strung together enough facts, from short references to full on PDF research papers over the years. I think even Dawg would admit to that, and I know he's no fan of my points of view, save on rare occaisions. The point that I and Res, and a bunch of others who simply don't bother with this place anymore, are trying to make is that you haven't brought but a couple original ideas to this forum, ever, and those handful weren't exactly practical, as I recall. You want discussion, bring up something to discuss, and that sure as hell isn't some dumbass free verse about the President, or a cut and paste Breitbart link. Address a problem, give us your solution.

Solution is very obvious. Run the reds out of office. A two party system of representative

We rank 27th or so in overall health outcomes, we pay more than double, per capita to get that lousy outcome, millions of us face the possibility of bankruptcy without insurance coverage, and you come up with 'no problem'.
