Hey Jumo, glad to see ya on forum yet again after all this time.

Yep, although I don't have so pesimist view of things I certainly do not like where things went... new IL-2 seemed to have gone slightly wrong way from the get go... those "unlocks" - no one seems to be needing those. Especially in serious flying sim game.
And also "exclusive" stuff like ...

And so... any one of you flying the thing?

So far I've tried Battle of Stalingrad (BoS)... haven't got Moscow (BoM) yet... it's a nice game and for some things, mostly visually for me, brings it one step closer to a real thing.

But I don't fly online anymore... even if I do, I'd be in Stuka ...

Just to make clear, I referred to Il-2 BoS only.

I haven't played WarThunder.

When ready for full rel.version game will boast several most important aircraft and of course many other things.

The single thing that bothers me, albeit quite severely, is inability to spot aircraft without icons.

Try it for yourself... some folks say there is no prob with that but I think ...

BTW yesterday during track review (they put it in game this friday) in external view I noticed how my shell is making bang sound on LaGG wing.
Jawdropping effect. Along with others.

I made a mistake tho.

We're not getting La-5FN but 1942 incarnation, vanilla La-5.
That crate was nothing to write home about although I guess you could do fine in it if ya play it smart.

Also game pretty much works same as RoF regarding purchasing stuff.

Meaning, when you first buy the game you will get 8 or 10 planes depending whether you buy silver or gold pack.
The two extra gold planes are Fw-190A3 and La-5FN.

You'll need to make extra purchase for all other ...
