You have a lead on a good body shop here in Phoenix or Glendale? The guys who painted originally don't do it any more. They decided selling insurance was more lucrative.
actually I might. I live in Portland, but one of my former techs moved to Pheonix about 2 years ago. I'll see if I can get his info.

The adjuster just came by. Thank god he's an old car dude. He said he was going to try to keep the numbers where they need to be so they don't total the vehicle.

I thought you had Hagerty? That amount of damage would never total it. How much was it insured for?

You need to find a better body shop if you can't get it fixed for 9K.

How much do they want for buy back if it's totaled?

They total it if it's 70% of full value.

The adjuster and I talked for quite a while. He said that if they totaled it I could buy it back but then it would be a salvage title and not worth anything should I ever sell it. He said he'd do his best to make sure that they didn't total it. He talked about how bad he felt about the government crushing cars like mine and by calling them "gas guzzlers".

Rugg, bullshit on the salvage title....you have pics to show it was hail damaged....to many people, a salvage title indicates severe collision or flood damaged beyond repair.....keep your vehicle, if you want to....I would. With a proper repair, it would still retain much of it's value....
