Wow, the attorney general got caught telling a fib, or at best, not being completely forthright, at his confirmation hearing. The correct answer would have been to say, "I met with the Russian Ambassador consistent with my duties as the Chair of the Senate Armed Forces Committee. I did not discuss the campaign, nor would I." If asked, "What were the contents of your discussion?" The response would be, "I will not publicly divulge these communications, but, I can absolutely assure it had nothing to do with the campaign, sanctions, or the US elections."

Would have this ended the inquiry? No. But, this coverup smells like poop. The Trump administration is far too close to Russia. Now, for the benefit of the country, there will likely be a 9/11 type investigation as to the connections. Perhaps callmeslick's prediction of a "smoking gun" is getting close...
