My son is 13 this year, and made a really studid comment about the world being boring until Blackberry messenger existed.
So I made him read this
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/15th_%28Sc ... y_Division
And have tasked him to write something about it at least 500 words ( all his own ) even though it is summer hols from school.
It should teach him that BBM is a luxury and he might even find his great grandad's and my uncle's names in his research. Both socialist Irishmen who fought in the wars so that we could live were we are.
Silly children.
Re: Silly children.
Good idea and great "fathering"....
"Both socialist Irishmen who fought in the wars so that we could live were we are."
No offence intended...but, I thought you lived in England? Roots from Ireland, I guess?

If this helps
"When I was a boy of 14, my father was so ignorant I could hardly stand to have the old man around. But when I got to be 21, I was astonished at how much he had learned in seven years."
-- Mark Twain
At almost 10 mine tried to explain "why playing computer is better than playing outside."
He quoted some tripe (yes, according to his history in firefox, he searched that verbatim) about video games helping doctors perform better surgerys and college students better test scores in bio-mechanics.
Good luck dude!!
The following words in your search query were ignored because they are too common words: obama.
Each word must consist of at least 3 characters and must not contain more than 14 characters excluding wildcards.
Re: Silly children.
Well his 500 word tome was not bad. Also he does use BBM to organise football and Tennis games so I let him off with a mild scolding. However, next family movie night it won't be some Hollywood family movie, instead I plan on showing them some black and white classics, Hitchcock, Laurel and Hardy etc
